Warmup Results Combined Practice Results Starting Grid
Honda and Chip Ganassi Racing continued to set the pace in Sunday morning’s warmup at Road America for this afternoon’s XPEl Grand Prix at Road America. The 2017 and 2020 (Race 1) winner at the 4.014-mile, 14-turn permanent road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin posted the best lap in the 30-minute session at 1m44.8508 (137.819 mph).
Dixon starts today’s race 12th on the grid. Following the six-time INDYCAR Champion was Meyer Shank Racing, whose organization shares a technical alliance with CGR. Their drivers, Marcus Armstrong and Felix Rosenqvist followed on the lap chart. They roll off third and fourth in today’s race.
Following the 1-2-3 for Honda was the Arrow McLaren Chevrolet of Nolan Siegel, who continued his stout weekend by ending the warmup in fourth. Rookie Caio Collet of A.J. Foyt Racing finished out the Top Five.
Pole winner Alex Palou ended the warmup in 20th as he looks to extend his NTT INDYCAR SERIES points lead, which is currently 50 ahead of Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood. Kirkwood placed 17th in the warmup and starts 18th as helooks for his first podium finish on a permanent road course.
Outside pole sitter David Malukas of Team Penske was 16th as he searches for his first INDYCAR win. This morning’s 30-minute warmup ran without major incident as teams dialed in preparations for this afternoon’s race.
