NTT INDYCAR SERIES points leader Alex Palou earned his fourth consecutive pole and fifth of 2026 in qualifying for tomorrow night’s Bommarito Automotive Group 500 at Worldwide Technology Raceway in Madison, Illinois.

Palou stormed to his way to the front of the 25-car field for tomorrow night’s 260-lap race on the 1.25-mile oval, besting Team Penske’s David Malukas with a two-lap average of 174.353 mph. He matches Emerson Fittipaldi for 20th all-time with a 17th career pole in his 107th career NTT INDYCAR SERIES start.

Palou’s best qualifying effort before Saturday was fifth in 2022. He finished a career-best fourth in the 2024 race.

CGR earns their fourth pole at WWTR and first on speed since Juan Pablo Montoya started on the pole in 1999 and 2000, winning the latter year. This pole is their 111th INDYCAR pole.

Palou’s Honda and Malukas’ Chevrolet occupy the front row as Palou seeks his first podium finish at this race track and Maluaks continues to chase his first INDYCAR win.

The top three in points qualified first, third and second as Kyle Kirkwood of Andretti Global, the 2025 winner of this race, earned his best start in five attempts by qualifying third. Indianapolis 500 winner Felix Rosenqvist of Meyer Shank Racing starts outside Kirkwood in fourth. Malukas’ teammate Scott McLaughlin rounds out the Top Five.

After leading this morning’s practice, Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward lines up ninth and looks for his first podium of 2026 at a track where he’s finished runner-up on four occasions. ]

Despite a crash in practice earlier today, Juncos Hollinger Racing and Rinus VeeKay rebounded and will start 13th in tomorrow night’s race.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Mick Schumacher fell short of his career-best start at the series’ first short oval in Phoenix but is the highest-qualifying rookie in 18th, lining up alongside teammate Louis Foster on the ninth row.
