Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist posted the fastest lap of the day as turbocharger boost was turned up ahead of qualifying weekend for the 110th Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge. Rosenqvist, who has led the “Fast 12” session in two of the last three years, notched a best lap of 233.372 mph (38.565 seconds) on the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Rosenqvist started third in 2023 and has finished fourth twice (2022 and 2025). Ed Carpenter Racing’s Alexander Rossi (2016 race winner) was .0729 of a second back of Rosenqvist’s Honda in his Chevrolet. Scott McLaughlin of Team Penske was third, with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Takuma Sato and Andretti Global’s Marcus Ericsson rounding out the Top Five. Sato (2017 and 2020) and Ericsson are both former Indianapolis 500 winners as well.

A.J. Foyt Racing’s Caio Collet was 17th overall but fastest among the four rookies in the 2026 field.

On the no-tow chart, indicative of qualifying pace, McLaughlin’s 232.674 mph (38.6808 seconds) was fastest in the 33-car field. Points leader and 2025 race winner Alex Palou was second to MCLaughlin’s Chevrolet in his Chip Ganassi Racing Honda. Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Rinus VeeKay was third followed by the Ed Carpenter Racing duo of Rossi and Christian Rasmussen.

Collet was 15th on the non-tow chart, ahead of rookies Jacob Abel with Abel Motorsports (26th), Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Mick Schumacher (29th) and Dennis Hauger from Dale Coyne Racing (32nd).

Although Friday’s on-track session was delayed two hours by rain and shortened from six hours to five, the fourth practice of the week was run without a major incident.
