Before he competes among his 33 peers for a spot in the 107th Indianapolis 500 presented By Gainbridge, Abel Motorsports’ RC Enerson needed to complete the refresher program. This is required for all rookies/drivers that have not attempted an NTT INDYCAR SERIES event on an oval between last year’s running and now.

Enerson did not qualify in his 2021 attempt with Top Gun Racing. His last INDYCAR race was the 2021 Big Machine Spiked Coolers Grand Prix on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

The New Port Richey, Florida native checked off 39 of his mandated 40 laps (10 at 205-210,15 at 210-215 and 15 at 215+) during his allotted hour and 45 minute session. He will be allowed to complete the last mandated lap and thereby his program during the full-field practice, which ends at 6:00 p.m.. Here are some brief notes from the 55 laps he spent on the 2.5-mile oval.

Best Lap:217.812 mph (41.32 seconds)

Best trap speeds:

Start-Finish Line: 224.678

Turn 1:224.775

T2:218.824 mph

T3220.594

T4:221.4889
