Warmup Results Combined Practice Results Starting Lineup Tire Choices
Before this afternoon’s 85-lap GMR Grand Prix, the 27 drivers of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES got a 30-minute warm-up on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.
Points leader Marcus Ericsson led the way in his Chip Ganassi Racing Honda-powered entry. The driver of the No. 8 posted a best lap of 1m10.3872 (124.744 mph) on the 2.438-mile, 14-turn road course.
Ericsson starts seventh and is still in search of his first INDYCAR win on a permanent road course.
Just like qualifying,Arrow McLaren would see one of their entries lead the way for the Chevrolet contingent. Alexander Rossi, the winner of the series’ last race on this venue in July, was .0281 of a second behind Ericsson. Rossi will start 10th.
After winning his first career pole on Friday afternoon, Christian Lundgaard finished 13th in his Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing entry. Last year’s winner of the GMR Grand Prix, Colton Herta, was third and starts 14th, matching his qualifying spot in the 2022 win.
Outside pole sitter Felix Rosenqvist of Arrow McLaren was 19th. Following a career-best qualifying effort of 11th, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Marcus Armstrong was again best among the rookies in the field, slotting in eighth. All on-track sessions have concluded as drivers and teams finalize their efforts in Saturday’s race.
