Practice 2 Results Combined Practice Results Qualifying Groups

Meyer Shank Racing would post the fastest times of the second and final practice ahead of qualifying this afternoon for Sunday’s OnlyBulls Grand Prix of Portland. Marcus Armstrong notched the best lap of the weekend during the first of a pair of 12-minute sessions that saw the 25-car field split between a pair of groups.

Armstrong’s best lap was 58.298 seconds (121.280 mph) on the 1.964-mile, 12-turn road course in Oregon. His best result in three previous races at PIR was in 2024, where he started in seventh and finished in fifth.

Slotting behind Armstrong in second was Friday’s practice leader and current NTT INDYCAR SERIES points leader Alex Palou, who’s Chip Ganassi Racing team shares a technical alliance with MSR. Palou was .3125 of a second back of Armstrong, who utilizer the higher grip of the alternate Firestone racing tires to full advantage.

Palou was one of just four drivers not to improve upon their best lap from yesterday, including teammate Kyffin Simpson, Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood and Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Rinus VeeKay.

Palou’s teammate Scott Dixon was third, with Armstrong’s teammate Felix Rosenqvist in fourth. Like Armstrong, Rosenqvist set his best lap during the group session (58.6692-120.513. mph)

Team Penske’s David Malukas followed the quartet of Hondas in fifth as the fastest Chevrolet.

A.J. Foyt Racing’s Caio Collet was again the fastest rookie in the field, placing 1

As was the case in yesterday’s practice, the session was run without major incident.
