Practice 2 Results Combined Practice Results Qualifying Groups

Andretti Global continued their recent hot streak on temporary street circuits during Saturday morning’s Practice 2 for tomorrow’s Acura Grand Prix of Log Beach. NTT INDYCAR SERIES points leader Kyle Kirkwood, who won from the pole at the 1.968-mile, 11-turn California track in 2023 and 2025. led the way.

Kirkwood posted a best lap of 1m07.5417 (104.895 mph) as the Honda-powered entry topped David Malukas’ Team Penske Chevrolet by .2333 of a second. Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward was third as Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou and Meyer Shank Racing’s Marcus Armstrong filled out the Top Five.

After leading practice on Friday, Kirkwood’s teammate Will Power finished 14th. A.J. Foyt Racing’s Caio Collet was best among the rookies in the field in 18th.

The initial 40-minute “all-skate” session was completed without incident, Saturday’s ensuing 12-minute “group sessions” featured multiple on-track incidents.

During the waning moments of the first split-group session, Nolan Siegel brushed the inside wall exiting Turn 7 before sliding to a stop in Turn 10 with a damaged left-front on his Arrow McLaren entry.

A few minutes into the second group session, Mick Schumacher brought out the second red flag of the session and second in as many practices for the rookie. The Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver slid into the inside tire barrier near the fountain by Turns 2 and 3.

Just over ten minutes would pass before a third and final incident brought the session to a halt. Dale Coyne Racing’s Romain Grosjean made heavy contact with the outside wall in Turn 1, prompting a third red flag.

Power, Grosjean and Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin were the only drivers not to run quicker than in yesterday’s practice.
