Ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon posted the best lap in the morning warmup at Barber Motorsports Park. Dixon, who has finished runner-up at Barber six times without a victory, posted a best lap of 1m06.6933 (124.150 mph) on the 2.3-mile, 17-turn permanent road course in Birmingham, Alabama.
Dixon will start 13th in today’s 90-lap race. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal; backed up his third-place qualifying effort yesterday by finishing second in the warmup, .0635 of a second back of Dixon. Rahal finished second here in 2015 and 2016.
Finishing a 1-2-3 in the warmup for Honda was Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist, whose team shares a technical alliance with CGR. Rosenqvist starts 18th today and looks to equal or better his fourth-place effort with MSR from 2024.
Arrow McLaren’s Nolan Siegel was best among the Chevrolets in fourth, as he makes his second Barber start. Last year, he started sixth and finished ninth in the 2025 race. Rosenqvist’s teammate Marcus Armstrong was fifth on the board and is seeking a second Top 10 finish (ninth in 2024) at Barber Motorsports Park. He will start fourth.
Dale Coyne Racing’s Dennis Hauger was best among this year’s rookies in 15th. Hauger, the 2025 INDY NXT winner at Barber starts 24th in his first INDYCAR start at this venue.
Just over 15 minutes into the session, Sting Ray Robb went off-course and into the grass inside Turn 9 as a brake fire erupted on the left-rear of his No. 77 Juncos Hollinger Racing entry. Robb climbed from his car unscathed during the red flag prompts by his incident. Following an impeding
