2025 Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250 Results
In his 30th start, Ed Carpenter Racing’s Christian Rasmussen made a late charge on fresh tires to win Sunday’s Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250.
Rasmussen passed pole sitter and 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES Champion Alex Palou with l6 laps left in the 250-lap event.
He gives ECR their first win since 2021 (Rinus VeeKay- IMS Road Course 1) and ninth as an organization.

Before today, the Copenhagen, Denmark native’s best INDYCAR finish was third at Worldwide Technology Raceway in June. He finished 11th and 16th in last year’s doubleheader, his first INDYCAR races at the Milwaukee Mile.
Rasmussen, who started ninth, held off Palou by 1.9463 seconds at the 1.015-mile oval in West Alis, Wisconsin.
Before today, Team Penske’s Ryan Briscoe was the most recent driver to win their first INDYCAR race at the historic Milwaukee Mile.’
The list of drivers to score their first INDYCAR victory at the Milwaukee Mile also includes Emil Andres, Johnny Mantz, Myron Fohr, Walt Faulkner, Mike Nazaruk, Chuck Stevenson, Johnny Thomson, Pat Flaherty, Jim Rathmann, Art Bisch, Lloyd Ruby, Jim Clark, Gordon Johncock, Art Pollard, Rick Mears, Greg Moore, Michel Jourdain Jr.

Rasmussen and fellow Dane Christian Lundgaard are the only drivers from Denmark to win an INDYCAR race as well as the serires’ most recent first-time winners.
Joining Rasmussen and Palou on the podium was Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin.
In fourth, Rasmussen’s ECR teammate Alexander Rossi gave the organization two cars finishing in the Top Five for the first time.
Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Louis Foster finished in 17th, one spot ahead of PREMA Racing’s Robert Shwartzman. Foster’s lead over Shwartzman in Rookie of the Year standings is eight points ahead of the 17th and final race of the year.

While the front of the field made it through cleanly on the first lap, trouble broke out further back.
Arrow McLaren’s Nolan Siegel got loose in Turn 4 and spun before crashing into the outside wall. The sophomore driver climd from his car and was soon cleared and released from the infield care center.

During the Lap 10 restart, Graham Rahal got loose in Turn 2. The Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing driver saved his car from spinning but another caution was brought out.
On tithe Lap 16 restart, Malukas found his way around Palou for the lead and would hold it for 26 laps. When the field hit lapped traffic, Palou began to stretch his lead to nearly 10 seconds, while McLaughlin passed Malukas for the runner-up spot.
On Lap 102, Will Power brushed the wall in Turns 2 and 3 before spinning on the exit of the latter corner.
20 laps after the Lap 119 restart, Callum Ilott’s engine let go. The resulting oil from the PREMA Racing driver’s issue prompted another caution.

Utilizing alternate fuel strategy, Meyer Shank Racing had Marcus Armstrong leading at the Lap 154 restart. Palou and th rest of the pack quickly overtook him following the restart.
Light rain in Turn 1 on Lap 209 prompted 13 laps under caution. On Lap 222, Palou would start in the lead followed by a handful of drivers who opted to pit for new tires.
After leading 199 of the first 235 laps, Palou would see his chance at a ninth victory in 2025 slip away. Rasmussen would hang 0n to win in the penultimate race of 2025.

Slowed by five cautions over 49 laps, the race ended with an average sped of 124.656 mph. The lead changed hands 11 times between six drivers.

The 2025 season draws to a close next weekend, as the Nashville Superspeedway hosts the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix.
Opening practice at the 1.33-mile concrete oval in Lebanon, Tennessee is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 30. Two-lap qualification runs (inverse order of entrant points) is set for 2:00 p.m.
The day’s on-track sessions conclude with a “high-line” practice and final session beginning at 4:30 p.m. ET. All of Saturday’s on-track sessions will air on FS2.
Sunday’s race will air on FOX at 2:00 p.m. ET, with the 225-lap race scheduled for a 2:45 p.m. ET green flag.
