After posting a blistering average of 162.971, 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES Champion Alex Palou earned his sixth pole of the year and 12tth of his career for Sunday’s Snap-On Milwaukee Mile 250. The Spaniard will lead the 27-car field to green in the 250-l p race on the 1.015-mile oval in West Alis, Wisconsin.
Palou matches Parnelli Jones for 30th all-time with a dozen career poles, Last year, he started 12th and 10th in the doubleheader. His Chip Ganassi Racing team now has 103 poles in 36 years of competition. Their most recent of four poles at the Milwaukee Mile before today was in 2012 with Dario Franchitti.
Joining him on the front row is A.J. Foyt Racing’s David Malukas, who matches his previous best starts from Race 2 of last year’s doubleheader.
Last year’s race winners occupy Row 2- Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward and Team Penske’s Scott McLaughlin.
McLaughlin’s teammate Will Power starts fifth after a nine-place grid penalty moves CGR’s Scott Dixon to 13th.
During the session, two drivers had issues on their runs. Andretti Global’s Colton Herta spun on
Shortly thereafter, Felix Rosenqvist spun and made contact with the wall in Turn 4. He was unable to log a qualifying attempt.
Following their respective penalties, Kyffin Simpson and Louis Foster will start at the back of the grid as well as Herta and Rosenqvist.
PREMA Racing’s Robert Shwartzman qualified best among the rookies in the field and starts his Milwaukee debut in 21st.
