Warmup Results Combined Practice Results
Andretti Global’s Colton Herta was fastest during Saturday afternoon’s warmup at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. In the final on-track session before Sunday’s 95-lap Java House Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the 2019 and 2021 winner on the 2.238-mile, 11-turn permanent road course in Salinas, California.
Herta starts third in tomorrow’s race as he looks for his first win of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season.
Finishing .4245 of a second back of Herta was pole sitter Alex Palou. The Chip Ganassi Racing driver looks for his third with at Laguna Seca tomorrow and to extend his points lead over Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward, who finished fourth in the session and is 100 points back of Palou.
O’Ward rolls off second for tomorrow’s race. He was the lone Chevrolet in the Top Five among the Honda entries. Honda-powered entries have won all five races since Laguna Seca’s 2019 return to the schedule (Last win her for Chevrolet was in 1993).
In between them, Palou’s teammate and 2023 race winner Scott Dixon was third in the session. Dixon rolls off 19th in Sunday’s race.
After a qualifying penalty relegated him to 12th, Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist was fifth in the warmup session.
Louis Foster of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing was best among the rookies in 23rd and makes hist first INDYCAR start at Laguna Seca from ninth on the grid.
Late in the session, Josef Newgarden veered off course and was stuck in the gravel outside Turn 3. The Team Penske driver was pulled from the trap and continued on. Following the red flag, INDYCAR would add five minutes to the session.
