Race 1 Qualifying Results Race 2 Qualifying Results
The 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES campaign has started off in opposite directions for Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou.
Newgarden, who is currently 17th in points and runaway points leader Palou will start from pole in this afternoon and Sunday’s 275-lap races on the .894-mile Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa for the Sukup INDYCAR Weekend.
Newgarden earned his 19th career pole (tied for 17th all-time with Danny Sullivan) and his second at Iowa Speedway (2020 Race 2). The pole for today’s Synk 275 powered by Sukup marks his first pole since last year in St. Petersburg He leads all drivers with six wins at Iowa.
Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Conor Daly joins him on the front row as Chevrolet looks for their first win of 2025. Meyer Shank Racing’s Felix Rosenqvist is best among the Hondas in third with Palou and Arrow McLaren’s Pato O’Ward completing the Top Five.
Louis Foster is the highest-qualifying rookie for the first race of the doubleheader in 12th.

For Sunday’s Farm to Finish 275 powered by Sukup, Palou notched the best lap of the weekend (184.014 mph-17.49 seconds) en route to his 10th INDYCAR pole and 101st for CGR.
Palou started and finished second in Race 2 of last year’s doubleheader. Rosenqvist will start in second as Honda earns their first Iowa pole in qualifying since 2011 (2012-13 lineups determined by heat races).
Following Palou and Rosenqvist on the second row for Race 2 are A.J. Foyt Racing’s David Malukas and the aforementioned Newgarden. Arrow McLaren’s Nolan Siegel lines up fifth.
Following his Indianapolis 500 pole and career-best finish of 1oth at Worldwide Technology Raceway (Gateway), PREMA Racing’s Robert Shwartzman is best among the rookies for Race 2 in 11th.
During the opening lap of his qualifying run, Scott McLaughlin got loose in Turn 1 before spinning into a hard crash on the outside retaining wall in Turn 2. He will start 27th in both races.
