Warmup Results Combined Practice Results Starting Lineup
Ahead of this afternoon’s XPEL Grand Prix at Road America, Felix Rosenqvist led the final warmup on the 4.048-mile, 14-turn permanent road course in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin.
The Meyer Shank Racing driver was fastest in the 25-minute session, notching a best lap of 1m45.0725 (135.493 mph). He will start 12th as he looks to return to victory lane at the site of his lone previous victory in the series (2020 Race 2). Rosenqvist was also one of nine drivers to record his best practice lap in the warmup.
Following a penalty for impeding that led to a 25th-place effort in qualifying, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon was .0792 of a second off Rosenqvist’s best lap. Dixon has won twice at Road America (2017 and 2020-Race 1).
A.J. Foyt Racing’s Satiation Ferrucci was best among the Chevrolets, placing third behind the Hondas of Rosenqvist and Dixon. He will start 18th in this afternoon’s 55-lap race.
Andretti Global’s Colton Herta was fourth in the warmup and rolls off 16th. Rounding out the Top Five was 2018 and 2022 race winner Josef Newgarden, who is 10th on the grid for the race.
Among some other notables was Andretti Global’s Kyle Kirkwood in 10th as he looks for a third consecutive NTT INDYCAR SERIES victory.
2016 and 2024 race winner Will Power of Team Penske was 13th, points leader Alex Palou (2021 and 2023 winner) was 24th. After taking his first pole in the series on Saturday, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Louis Foster was last on the 27-car grid.
Foster’s last appearance on a permanent road course resulted in his best career result in nine starts, finishing 11th after starting third.
During the last on-track session before today’s race, only a spin. by Dale Coyne Racing’s Jacob Abel halted the practice. The rookie spun and made light contact with the outside tire barrier. He was 20th in the warmup and starts 27th in the race.
