Warmup Results Combined Practice Results Starting Tire Choices

Ahead of this afternoon’s Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix, Felix Rosenqvist posted the best lap in Sunday morning’s 25-minute warmup session. The Meyer Shank Racing driver notched a best lap of 1m02.1054 (95.354 mph) on the 1.645-mile, 9-turn temporary street course.

Rosenqvist will start this afternoon’s 100-lap race 13th following the penalties to Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal and Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon for unapproved engine changes.

Kyle Kirkwood continued Andretti Global’s hot start to the race weekend, ending the warmup in second, .2393 of a second back of Rosenqvist. Following the pair of Honda-powered cars was A.J. Foyt Racing’s David Malukas. Less than a week after finishing runner-up at the Indianapolis 500, Malukas equaled his previous best start and qualified second for today’s race.

PREMA Racing’s Callum Ilott and Juncos Hollinger Racing’s Sting Ray Robb completed the Top Five win their Chevrolet-entries, giving the engine manufacturer 3-4-5 in their de facto home race. Ilott and Robb start 17th and 25th in today’s race.

Rosenqvist, Malukas and Robb will the only drivers to post their fastest practice lap of the weekend in this session.

Points leader Alex Palou was seventh and starts fifth as he looks for a fourth consecutive victory. After not qualifying for the Indianapolis 500, Dale Coyne Racing’s Jacob Abel was best among the drivers contending for Rookie of the Year in 20th, where he starts this afternoon’s race.

Despite being ineligible for Rookie of the Year, Arrow MclAren’s Nolan Siegel makes his debut at this circuit. Siegel will start last on the 27-car grid following engine issues during qualifying.
