Arrow McLaren’s Nolan Siegel was fastest during Saturday morning’s practice for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. During the 45-minute session, the sophomore driver turned a best lap of 1m07.1169 (105.559 mph) on the 1.968-mile, 11-turn temporary street circuit in his home state of California.

2021 Long Beach winner Colton Herta of Andretti Global led the way for Honda behind Siegel’s Chevrolet with a lap .0479 of a second back.

Rookie Louis Foster of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing was third. After leading yesterday’s practice, Team Penske’s Will Power was fourth and Herta’s teammate Kyle Kirkwood, the 2023 pole and race winner.

During the session, Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon made contact with the outside wall in Turn 6. Despite sustaining body and toe link damage to his No. 9 entry, the two-time and defending race winner ended the session in ninth after spending time on pit road for repairs.

Teammate Alex Palou was seventh win the session, entering the weekend of two straight wins to begin 2025. Palou would be the first driver since Dixon in 2020 to win the first three races of the season. With his first Long Beach win, Palou would become the fifth driver in INDYCAR history to open the season with three consecutive wins.

Now, the 27-car field turns their attention to qualifying for tomorrow’s 90-lap race.
