Practice 2 Results Combined Practice Results Qualifying Groups

Arrow McLaren’s Christian Lundgaard was quickest in Saturday morning’s 45-minute practice at the Thermal Club in Thermal, California. Following an eighth-place finish in his debut with the organization in St. Petersburg (led 23 laps), the Dane posted a bet lap of 1m40.6421 (109.708 mph) on the 3.067-mile, 17-turn permanent road course.

Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou was second in the session after leading opening practice yesterday, as he finished .4826 of a second back of Lundgaard’s Chevrolet.

Palou was followed by Honda stablemates Marcus Ericsson of Andretti Global and Marcus Armstrong of Meyer Shank Racing. Pato O’Ward bookended the Top Five for Arrow McLaren.

Lundgaard and Arrmstrong were two of jut four drivers to run a faster lap in practice 2 than in the opening practice. Rinus VeeKay of Dale Coyne Racing and Devlin DeFrancesco of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing were the only other drivers to do so.

Louis Foster of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing was 13th in the 45-minute session, best among the rookies in the field.

Only 26 of the 27 drivers in the field recorded a lap during this morning’s session.

After extensive repairs, PREMA Racing were unable to return the No. 83 car to the track for practice after Robert Shwartzman exited Friday’s practice with fuel tank issues. The current Rookie of the Year leader’s status for qualifying is currently unknown.
