2024 Hy-Vee One Step 250 Results
Team Penske completed their third consecutive sweep at Iowa Speedway on Sunday. Will Power earned his first victory on the .894-miile oval in Newton, Iowa at the Hy-Vee OneStep 250.
An offseason repave of the lower half of the race track has left passing at a premium, Just as teammate Scott McLaughlin did in Saturday night’s race, Power utilized the work of his pit crew to jump from 22nd to win for the second time in 2024 and 43rd in his career.
The native of Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia breaks a tie with Michael Andretti for third on the all-time win list. Power now leapfrogs back to second in points, 35 behind Palou after Pato O”Ward of Arrow McLaren finished sixth.
Finishing .3915 of a second back was Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou, who rebounded from a crash yesterday to remain in the points lead.
After winning in dominant fashion last night, McLaughlin would finish third behind his teammate.
Palou’s Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon repeated his fourth-place effort in Saturday’s race. Andretti Global’s Colton Herta would round out the Top Five.
Just like his championship-leading teammate, Linus Lundqvist rebounded from DNF. on Saturday to end the weekend in 12th for the second race.

Race Recap
After severe back and neck pain forced him to drop out from last night’s race, Dale Coyne Racing’s Jack Harvey was replaced by Conor Daly in the No. 18 entry.
Daly was given a special 15-minute session on Sunday morning and started 27th on the grid.
McLaughlin would lead from the pole, staying up front during the first 96 laps.
On Lap 101, Agustin Canapino spun on the apron exiting pit lane. The first caution of the afternoon would be thrown as the Jun cos Hollinger Racing driver would be towed into pit lane.
During the caution, Palou would inherit the lead back and hold it until Lap 204. After Lundqvist held the top spot on Lap 206, Power would get the lead for the second time on Lap 207 and never look back.

Ed Carpenter and Kyle Kirkwood were also involved in the crash. Robb would be transported by helicopter to a local hospital for observation and further imaging but was awake and alert.
All other drivers would be checked and released from the infield care center. The race featured six lead changes among four drivers and ran at a record average speed of 154.768 mph. Just two cautions slowed the race for a track record-low 12 caution laps.
Following this weekend’s busy doubleheader, the NTT INDYCAR SERIES heads north of the border.

Next weekend marks the lone stop for the series outside the United States. The street circuit at Exhibition Place on the streets of Toronto, Ontario, Canada hosts the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy Toronto.
Opening practice is set for 3:00 p.m.-4:15 p.m. ET on Friday. Second practice is scheduled for 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM ET with qualifying at 2:45 p.m. ET on Saturday.
A 30-minute warmup is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Sunday. The 85-lap race is scheduled for broadcast at 1:30 p.m. ET. For the race, all on-track sessions will be available on Peacock.
