Arrow McLaren has confirmed Nolan Siegel as the driver of the No. 6 Arrow McLaren entry for a multiyear deal.
Siegel will take over the ride beginning with this weekend’s Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
Siegel, who won the LMP2 class at last weekend’s 24 Hours of Le Mans with MCLaren-afffiliated United Autosport, has made three NTT INDYCAR SERIES starts, as well as running the $1 Million Challenge at Thermal Club and attempting to qualify for the 108th Indianapolis 500 last month.
“I’m looking forward to jumping right in with the Arrow McLaren team this week and confirming my place in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES in papaya moving forward,” Siegel noted in today’s announcement.
Siegel’s best finish was in his debut at Long Beach in April for Dale Coyne Racing with Rick Ware Racing, a 20th. In substituting for Agustin Canapino at Juncos Hollinger Racing, Siegel would start 21st and finish 23rd.
“This is an unexpected jump, but I’m thrilled to be in this position after a rewarding run in the Indy NXT by Firestone series with HMD Motorsports. I am looking forward to this new journey and learning alongside the entire team starting this weekend in my home state.”
Arrow McLaren had previously announced Theo Pourchaire would drive the No. 6 for the remainder of the 2024 season. Pourchaire and Callum Ilott had previously split the ride following David Malukas’ offseason wrist injury and subsequent release from the organization.
“Stability and sustained growth are key to our long-term game plan here, and this is a significant step in that mission,” Arrow McLaren Team Principal Gavin Ward noted.
“First, I want to thank Théo for his time filling in on the No. 6 car with us in recent weeks. We’ve been working through musical chairs all season, and ultimately, making this change to Nolan now that he’s available gives us the chance to build a foundation for the future. He is a young, talented driver with an immense amount of experience at this stage of his career and we’re excited to continue on the upward journey together.”
Siegel’s contract is for multiple years with the team.
