Warmup Results Combined Practice Results Starting Lineup
Ahead of this afternoon’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal paced the final 30-minute warmup. The 2013 runner-up will start 12th on the 27-car grid, his best qualifying effort here since 2019. Rahal notched a best lap of 1m07.0485 (105.667 mph) on the 1.968-mile, 11-turn street course.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Alex Palou gave Honda a 1-2 effort in second, .0447 of a second back of Rahal. The winner of the March 24 $1 Million Challenge at the Thermal Club will start today’s race in sixth.
St. Petersburg winner Josef Newgarden of Team Penske was third in the session, best among the Chevrolets. The 2022 Long Beach winner rolls off third in the 85-lap race. Andretti Global’s Colton Herta was fourth and starts today’s race in the same spot as he looks to duplicate his 2021 win at Long Beach.
Felix Rosrnqvist, who gave Meyer Shank their first pole yesterday, was fifth despite a lock-up in Turn 9 as the session ended. Outside pole sitter Will Power was 22nd with Ed Carpenter Racing’s Christian Rasmussen in 17th, best among the Rookie of the Year contenders and starts 21st.
40 years after his grandfather Emerson made his INDYCAR debut here, Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Pietro Fittipaldi starts 19th and was 16th in the warmup.
Fittipaldi is one of seven drivers making their first Long Beach start. Nolan Siegel and Théo Pourchaire make their series debut.
