On Friday, Arrow McLaren confirmed David Malukas as the driver of their No. 6 entry beginning with the 2024 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season. He fills the seat previously occupied by Felix Rosenqvist.

“I can’t wait to race in papaya next season,” Malukas exclaimed in today’s announcement.

“Arrow McLaren has been a threat to the top contenders all season long, and I’m excited to join the team and see what their Chevrolets can do. Pato and Alexander both know what it takes to win, so it will be fun racing alongside them and learning from them as well.”

Malukas joins Pato O’Ward and Alexander Rossi on the three-car team. Kyle Larson will also make his Indianapolis 500 debut with Arrow McLaren. The 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion will be competing in”The Double”, running NASCAR’s Coca-Cola 600 in 2024 following the Indianapolis 500.

“We’ve been extremely impressed with how quickly David has gotten up to speed in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES,” noted Arrow Mc:Larden’s Racing Director Gavin Ward said of Malukas’ hiring.

“At 21, he’s already one of the strongest oval racers in the field and his competitiveness on road and street courses has been steadily improving. That speed combined with an excellent attitude and work ethic makes us thrilled to have him join the team.”

Malukas, who has driven for Dale Coyne Racing with his family’s HMD Motorsports since his 2022 debut, has made 33 INDYCAR starts.

Last season, he finished runner-up to Josef Newgarden at WorldWide Technology Raceway, his best INDYCAR finish to date. Two week ago, he finished third at the 1.25-mile oval, his best effort of 2023.

“David is an up and comer in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES, and based on what we’ve seen from him so far in his first two seasons, I’m confident there’s a lot of talent we can extract from him through the resources we have at Arrow McLaren,” McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown added.

“Beyond what he can do on a racetrack, he’s got a great personality and we’re excited to welcome him to the McLaren Racing family.”

At the second Iowa race this season, Malukas qualified third, his best start in the series. HMD Motorsports, led by David’s father Henry Malukas, have not announced plans for any potential NTT INDYCAR SERIES entry in 2024.
